The present study aimed to develop and evaluate gastroretentive floating tablets containing barbaloin and curcumin for prolonged gastric residence and controlled oral delivery. Preformulation studies included organoleptic evaluation, solubility, pH, melting point, UV-visible spectrophotometry and Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) analysis. Six formulations (F1–F6) were prepared by direct compression and evaluated for powder-flow properties, tablet quality attributes, buoyancy, swelling, drug content and in-vitro dissolution. The prepared blends showed acceptable flow characteristics, with F5 exhibiting an angle of repose of 27.83°, Carr’s index of 12.50% and Hausner’s ratio of 1.14. F5 showed a thickness of 4.02 ± 0.03 mm, hardness of 6.8 ± 0.09 kg/cm², friability of 0.41 ± 0.02%, drug content of 99.87 ± 0.24%, floating lag time of 18 ± 1 s, total floating time of 24 h and swelling index of 167 ± 3%. The dissolution studies showed 99.98% cumulative release from F5 at 13 min. Among the tested kinetic models, F5 showed the highest R² for the first-order model (0.978). During 90-day stability testing, drug content decreased from 99.87% to 98.35% under long-term conditions and to 97.45% under accelerated conditions....
